Our Guiding Values

We are a Scripturally-based, Spirit-filled, and sacramental congregation in the Anglican tradition

Gospel-Centered

The Gospel is the good news that Jesus Christ and the power of God’s kingdom has entered history to forgive our sin, heal our brokenness, and reconcile all of creation back to God. As a Gospel-centered church, we focus our activity, “preaching, sacraments, teaching, worship, outreach, pastoral care, discipleship” on the riches of God’s grace available only through the shed blood, sacrificial death, and glorious resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Biblical Teaching and Preaching

We believe that “faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ” (Romans 10:17); therefore, we are dedicated to teaching and preaching that is firmly rooted in the scriptures. We trust the Bible is God’s authoritative Word, and that the Holy Spirit guides and teaches us through it.

Community

The Gospel is a proclamation to be believed and a power to be experienced individually and collectively.  We create numerous opportunities for fellowship at Trinity, with community groups being the primary place where relationships are deepened.  We love having people join us for worship, community groups, Bible study, or any of the parties that we throw!  Everyone is welcome, and it is always “come as you are.”

Outreach

We seek to be a church that proclaims the Gospel message through word and deed in the city of Thomasville and around the world.  We enjoy several partnerships with organizations that minister to our neighbors locally and abroad.  Working together with other congregations and denominations in our community around common initiatives is an important aspect of our local mission.

Prayer

Prayer is of utmost importance at Trinity.  We trust God to open doors for ministry and to provide for personal and spiritual needs.  Our Vestry sees their leadership role to be one of discernment rather than decision making.  Every Sunday we have a team available to pray with individuals for healing and/or personal needs.

Embracing our Anglican Heritage

We are part of a tradition that goes back to the Protestant Reformation in the unique way that it transpired in England before, during and after the 16th century.  We are rooted in Scripture, believing that the Scriptures are the ultimate authority for what we believe and how we live. We are Sacramental, using a pattern of worship that the Church has used for almost 2,000 years. We are Spirit-filled, experiencing the presence and the power of the Spirit in our lives. As part of the Gulf Atlantic Diocese, we are also members of the Anglican Church in North America, and we are globally-connected to more than 80 million Anglicans worldwide. We uphold and spread our historic faith as set forth in the Book of Common Prayer.
