Christian Education, Formation, and Fellowship

Lifelong pursuits which enable us to grow in knowledge, service, community, and love of God

Christian education, formation, and fellowship are lifelong pursuits which enable us to grow in knowledge, service, community, and love of God. At Trinity there are opportunities and programs for all ages.

Children: Sunday morning care of infants and toddlers is provided by paid attendants during the worship service. Each Sunday, three-year-old through first grade children participate in Godly Play, a Montessori-based program that helps students engage with scripture through play.  Children in grades second through fifth meet for Godly Study to read aloud and discuss scripture with lay leaders. Our children meet on Sunday afternoons for SAP (Sunday Afternoon Program) which includes children's choir, discipleship, and a meal.  We offer free childcare one Friday per month so that parents can enjoy a date night!  During the Summer, we invite all children from Thomasville to a Friday Morning Story time. We have joyfully welcomed many new babies in our congregation and consider our children’s program an important area to continue developing.

Youth: Through our Engage program, adult volunteers meet regularly with youth to build a relationship, study the Bible, and pray together. Once a month, students are invited to lunch with a priest, fondly known as, “Party with a Priest,” to ask any questions they have about life and faith.

The youth experience a two-year pattern of Christian formation with The Alpha Course, providing our youth with a safe space to explore the basics of the Christian faith and Catechism during the alternate year.  This has proven a wonderful way to minister to those outside our church, as many of our youth invited unchurched friends. Other activities include social outings and day trips, as well as Dynamos and Camp Araminta in the summertime.

Adults: Community Groups meet to study the Word, pray together, and share a meal. This is the primary place where individuals are known and cared for at Trinity.  All groups are led by trained lay leaders and meet in a variety of locations at various days and times throughout the week. An area of growth for our parish is continual oversight and support to these lay leaders from pastoral staff.  Men’s and women’s Bible studies, social gatherings, and retreats are also offered throughout the year.

Theology on Tap is a monthly gathering, hosted by Trinity and our across-the-street taproom, designed to bring people from all walks of life together over a beer and deep conversation about faith. This has been a wonderful outreach opportunity to the adults in our neighborhood, several of whom have come to faith and become a part of our Trinity community.

At Trinity, we value the many opportunities intentionally, as well as accidentally, available for friendly interaction. The large parish hall is well-suited for group activities and shared meals. Each Sunday, after the worship service, there is a “coffee hour” with light food and beverages, encouraging parishioners to greet guests and fellowship as a family.  Several times a year, coffee hour becomes a parish luncheon in celebration of special occasions.

A New Members class is held in the fall and in the Spring, as needed. This is a 5-week course for people who want to explore Anglicanism and our church’s vision, mission, and values. It is also how a person is prepared to become a member of our church.

Youth Confirmation class

We have a 2-semester confirmation class every other year. The goal is to explore the faith and the Youth to decide if this is the right time for them to Confirm their Baptism.
